Hello I have been enjoying my SL15 since full repairs and reno last year. However I did not know the record clamp requires grease. Is this mentioned in your owner/service manual? Would this apply to the 15 as well?

Don't use any - remove the puck. Then you can play some 180g vinyl!

if you want to keep it use lithium

Have not had issues playing 180 even 200g on the SL-15. What am I doing differently or is there enough design changes between the two models?

Just the design of the 10. 10's are picky with 180g, the arm can drag and cueing goes pear shaped. My 7 is fine as well.

Removing the puck on a 10 is a relatively common mod if you want to play 180gm. It doesnt make any differance and may improve the noise apparently.

Or don't buy 180gm vinyl as it doesn't make much difference - quality of the vinyl not the thickness (that could be controversial!!)

IMHO quality of vinyl is most crucial factor.

Speaking of record weights (clamps/pucks) I had the pleasure of writing a Supreme Analog weight product brief for The Silo earlier today- https://www.thesilo.ca/supreme-analog-v ... -trending/
