Show us your unique turntable or record player!

I got to thinking about this topic recently while looking at wolfie62's new JVC project here...

43246

It got me wondering why these unique tables don't get as much attention as the more common ones like say a Technics 1200 mk2, a Dual 1229 or for the newbies, an Audio Technica AT-LP120, per se...

What about those of you who own a Marlux, for example? Or a Connoisseur? Could just be an old BSR Quanta...Maybe you've got some Apollo Electrohome, Brother or Weltron space-age curiosity stored away...What about those rare brands no one's ever heard of? Kyocera, anyone? You might even have something that is so one-of-a-kind, you've NEVER seen another one in your lifetime! Maybe you've modified a console into something awesome that it was never intended to be...Then again, what if you have an unusual linear table, an odd design (like an all-wood turntable with a log plinth), a "Frankenstein"-type thing of your own creation, or a Victrola from a company no one knows about??? :-k

Are these tables just not desirable due to the lack of information about them? For those wanting a challenge, you would think that these would be right up their alley... :-k :?

They might even surprise you! Two examples of unique tables in my collection might be my Garrard 74M and Panasonic SE-1217 tabletop console here...

Not common tables in the least and maybe not the best, but very interesting nonetheless...

They are quirky and unique and fun, and add variety to the collection...

If you have something like this that you think is quite unique, why not show some pics here??? I'm sure we'd all love to see 'em! =D>

Maybe you could explain a bit WHY you like your particular tables, too... :-k

OK, guys...You've been given a challenge...Now, go!! :D

I think you might get more response with 'unusual' rather than 'unique'. Unique means there is only one, so you (unintentionally) suggest that you are only interested in manufacturer's prototypes or DIY tables.
I'm all for pictures of oddball tables, though.

Of course, I meant unique in the "unusual, oddball, strange" sense as well as the "one-of-a-kind" sense...Of course, the table could be unique to the owner's collection (or to them generally), especially if they have a few more common tables that get all the playtime...

I have a Vestax PDT-6000. Never seen another one , or met anyone else who's heard of it or seen one before!

Looking at pictures online, first thing I notice is that it has quite an interesting tonearm. It looks like the one on the Yamaha YP-D71 (and perhaps other models too?)

I got this Denon SL-9DA turntable in 2016 off eBay.
I didn't know much about it other than I had not seen one like it before. I've since researched and found that apparently it was marketed and sold strictly in Canada. I guess some made it across the border to the US.
This one was gutted of the auto return mechanism so it is all manual. I believe this to be built by Nippon Columbia Co. as there is a manual for it on eBay. Possibly early to mid 80's.
It's one of my favorite tables to date!😊

And it's a very nice-looking table, too, ethorn66! I've never seen one like it! :D Now, this is what I am talking about! =D>

Maybe you have a Mitsubishi vertical linear tracker? Maybe it's an Audio Technica Sound Burger? What if you have some portable battery-operated Philips machine from the 60's...Or a hip-pocket disc player...Or a rare kiddie phono? Do you see what I'm getting at here? :-k Maybe you have a Dual combo unit from Noresco? A Sony receiver with a Dual on top? Some unusual console from a name no one's heard of? How about a weird-looking plinth or crazy paint job you applied to your turntable? What if your turntable is littered with stickers? It could even be one of those school phonographs in an odd color! Whatever is unique to you, unusual or rare! If you have something like this, by all means, show it off here! =D>

For example, here is a very cool Japanese inchophone that my favorite record dealer Joe was selling...

I know - that's one of the reasons I bought it! :D

I have Yamaha GT-2000 as well and the similarities between the two arms are quite striking.

My TT isn't unique by way of model number but is by way of appearance. :D

I do remember the Mitsu vertical linear tracker. I knew someone who had one and liked it.

Yes, Tonybro...I have yet to see another Technics in that color blue! Great job on that, too, by the way! =D>

It does make wonder, though...Has anyone ever put a "glitter finish" on their Techie? :-k

No apologies necessary Tonybro! I have seen blooey before and it's a great looking table! Well worth another look!😊
How long ago did you paint blooey and what type of paint did you use? Acrylic enamel, lacquer?
