Very nice, thanks! But Iā€™m older than that. I was thinking of this one:

OK guys, nice pics! Now, since you know I search a lot of Craigslist ads, I thought I would show you some pics of weird and wonderful turntables and record players I have found in my travels...First off, while looking for a turntable for our new friend blackdogvinyl, I came across this unusual Kingon portable suitcase transistor phonograph...Never seen one like it!

43328

It has a built-in tuner, as well, which you don't see too often, especially with a portable model!

Along with that one, I found these while scrolling shopgoodwill.com's web site...I always see the most unusual turntables on that site! :)

First up is this Garrard GT35-AP-1...To some of you, this one might not be so unique, but compared to many of the other Garrards I've seen, it has a minimalist modern look...

43335
43336

Next, I found this turntable made by Heyday...I don't know anything about it, but it sports an Audio Technica cartridge...Any thoughts? It certainly has a unique look to it...

43331
43332
43333
43334

Next up is this Hilton 75-A Sound System...

43339
43340

...followed by it's "bigger brother", the AC-300A Sound System...

43337
43338

Here is another unusual piece of equipment made by North American...A "Super Midget Transistor Phonograph"...I don't know anything about this one, either...

43329
43330

Finally, we have a beauty in chrome silver, made by Webcor...Not sure of the model number, but a classy artifact of it's time nonetheless!

43341
43342

What do ya think of those? :-k

Like I said, they don't have to be the best...They just have to be unique or unusual! If any of you guys know anything about the turntables featured, PLEASE fill me in...Otherwise, I hope to add more unique turntables that I spot in my travels as time goes on...Again, if any of you have some interesting ones to share that you think we might want to see here, by all means, share them with us! =D>

Oh, and regarding that Heyday, I'm not sure if I'm onto something here, but it looks like it is a new brand from Target and the turntable includes a COUNTERWEIGHT and has ANTI-SKATE FUNCTION...Hmmm...REMOVABLE CARTRIDGE, too! And $99.00...Here's a review I found of it...

Check out this video of the "TripleCorder" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1e3kzMGAGkM
A 3-in-one tiny unit with reel-to-reel, AM radio, and record player, small enough to balance on your head!

Hey VM, where was that Webcor changer listed? I think it is beautiful. That would make a great machine to stack my rock and roll 78's on.

Oh, and I also saw this custom job online, perfect for listening to "death metal"...

The thing is...People are "coffin" up a lot of dough to buy one!

And they're already "buried" in debt!

A "grave matter", indeed...

To my taste...a bit of "overkill"......
Someone should make one of these....using CD and MP3 players....
Then proclaim: "Digital is DEAD!! Long Live ANALOG!"!:)

Or we could leave it empty so there is room to put all the Crosleys that fell prey to the Crosley Crusher. While I wouldn't want the coffin, I like the workmanship and think there are people who have decor it would fit nicely.

That 'Coffin Player' somehow reminds me of an ancient record player I once saw in a turntable museum here in the Netherlands. This macabre looking machine is from 1920 and it's called the 'Ultraphon'.

It has two tonearms that play simultaneously, in order to create a fake 'Stereo' effect...

Wow, Japi! That thing looks crazy!! It's like a "turntable in a tin can"! Got any more strange, weird, unusual, fun and wonderful machines to share? :-k

Keep in mind that we here in the States don't often see the European stuff and vice versa, I'm sure...By all means, bring 'em on!! =D>

Well, since I've seen a few more interesting tables in my travels in the last few years, I thought I'd show these, too...

Here is an interesting little Realistic portable model, made for Radio Shack...

43354
43355

Then, we have this Jackson suitcase model with a built-in tuner...

43356
43358
43357

...followed by this unusual model by Panasonic...

43360

On my own Craigslist, I've seen some unusual minimalist record players, such as this simple one made by the Astrex Co.

43370

And then, of course, we have the benchmark of space-age record players, the infamous groovy Apollo Electrohome 860 with the ball-shaped speakers...Perfect for that vintage bachelor pad and all it needs is a white shag carpet! "Out there" is not the word!

43363

Now, I know Capitol made records, but I did not know they made TT's like this...This must be an unusual model for them...

43366

And then, I found this Thorens "music box"? recently and thought you guys might like to see it...A very interesting thing, to say the least...

43369
43367
43368

The unusual designs are not limited to record players, though...Here is this clear cassette player made by Audiosound that I also found recently...

43364
43365

I've heard they might have used clear electronics like this in the prisons to deter people from hiding weapons in the casing or chassis...Any truth to this? :-k

Here is another little reel to reel machine from Aiwa that I found in a local antique mall a while back, too...

42079

I also wanted to show you guys some interesting plinths, mods and dust covers I've found...First up is this neon wonder placed upon a Denon DP-35F...

43359

Here is a custom grey "marble-ized look" plinth for a Pioneer PL-12D...

43361

I've also shown this custom Dual before...A very interesting plinth, even though the wooden ones are obviously better...Still, quite an oddity!

43362

Even better all chromed up! :D

43371

And then, there was this guy out of Seattle named Jon who was making these Naugahyde Dual dust covers...I haven't heard back from him and I still want one! =P~

32301

Finally, I thought this was a good way to dress up a Technics SL-D2...I saw this one on the 'Bay some time back and I like how the veneer jazzes up the TT to a new level...

41081
41082

So, what do you guys think? :-k

If you have any other unusual turntables or record players to share, feel free and "be my guest"...

I know someone who has a prison TV. It has a completely clear case. So. yes there is truth to that question.
