Dual Spares

Postby brianh » 15 Dec 2017 01:28

Hi

I have a dual 701 with a tone arm that does not move horizontally and on inspection it seems to be a damaged tone arm control stud ie it does not reach the tone arm plate. So my question is where can I obtain a replacement part or should I try modifying it with say a small cap to reach the the plate.

Regards

There is a Dual forum here that should have all the answers.

Check the steuerpimpel thread.

A temporary solution (that may last as long as you use the table) is to cut a bit of insulation off of lamp wire and shove it on the stud. 3/16 inch or so should work fine. I think that the actual shape of the end of the insulation (or the steuerpimpel) doesn't really matter since the thick grease on the plate offers sufficient resistance to motion to keep the arm moving along with the paddle thingy.
