My very simple, basic TD 150 ii

Internal damping, new phono leads, 14mm MDF base board, feet off a Project TT.

That's it. I love it.

Hi,

Hereby a photo of my original Thorens TD160 white MK1 with Denon DL110.

High serial no. 248675 ofcourse a bit guessing, but seen the high serial number I think this one of the lastest MK1 model before the MK2, this model plint is made of some kind of plastic but it is definitely a TD 160 MK1 model Thorens. I don't know were the MK2 serialnumbers where started but seen them started at 274***.

This photo was taking while testing after his annual maintenance by JK acoustics 8)

Curious? More photos you can find them also at:

If anyone knows someting about this spectaculare Thorens TD160 white please let me know.

Best regards,
Van der Wals

Here is a TD160B MKII.

Built from parts left over from other projects plus the purchase of a nice top plate for a TD160B (Ebay).

Plinth in 23mm Walnut, 10mm main spindle/metal inner platter, Technics mat, Linn LVV arm. Topped with an early Linn dark lid, again left over when I changed my LP12 to a clear version.

I'm pleased with the result, it is an unusual combination using the Linn arm but it works well.
