Sp 25 Start/Stop Button

Post by JayM481 » 05 May 2011 04:01

The s/s button for the SP25 has the same part number as the one for the SL-1200Mk2, so I ordered one. It looks like the right thing, but my problem is removing the old pin. I've removed the circlip and the metal switch actuator/spring, but the old pin is in there solid. I've shot it with a bit of faderlube (no sure I want to get aggressive with WD-40 near a PCB), but the thing won't budge.

Any ideas? Before I try BFI (brute force and ignorance) I'd like to know if there's a trick to it.

Hi ,

Ever since I got my SP-25 ,I soldered 2 wires to the switch connections ,and attached them to a sort of remote switch.

In this way ,you don`t really need this switch on the deck ,and the deck won`t vibrate ,when you start to play.

Unless you plan on selling the deck ,I wouldn`t bother with the switch.

I'm a stickler for appearance once the sonics are sortd out, so I'd prefer to have the swich in place. I have thought about making a wooden one, but I have two decks and may well sell one eventually, so I'd prefer to actually know how to make this swap.

Hello!

I know it's been almost a decade since you dealt with yr start-stop button issue, but I'm finally dealing with my own SP-25 button and have the same problem. Did you ever find a solution? Thanks so much.
