Please answer - which size of philips screwdriver must be used to remove three black screws that hold the motor in place ?...

You will probably manage with a fresh PH1/PH0, but actually these are JIS screws. ;)

Hi Excellent post congratulations! Would you be able to do the same for a SL-1900? I need to clean out the lift assembly and put in fresh silicone oil since it does not go down after playing a disc. (Well it does go down but now takes days!)

Hi renekahawita, are you talking about SL1200 disassembly or did you mix up topics and meant to reply to the silicone damper oil topic:

The SL-1900 is mentioned in the service doc as method A or C, depending on the serial number. So look that up first.

Do you know which size of JIS screwdriver I will have to look out for? Are other screws (black base plate screws) JIS as well?

I use one that is marked as a number "2 x 100mm" and it fits those motor screws perfect
