turntable doesn't work

looking for possible reasons that my SL- D2 won't start. Sat for a long time after working fine.

The reason is in your next sentence: "Sat for a long time...". Now you need to service it properly.

Trying to answer your original question

1.In my Technics...it looks as if there is at least one fuse so open it ( un plugged ) and carefully check.

2. Check the switches , clean then with deoxit .

3. There should be speed pots ...clean then and turn them several times.

4. Look at the capacitors on the circuits and see if any look leaky.

5.Check the integrity of the mains lead.

6. My Technics has a voltage adjustment...check it is in the correct setting.

7. General inspection of any lead not connected... :D
