SL-7 dead on right channel

Post by Don_Fatale » 03 Oct 2019 23:41

My beloved SL-7 has an intermittent fault which has now turned into a constant one - one channel has gone dead.
It seems like this is due to the start muting not disabling, as in the past a gentle tap on the lid would temporarily fix it.

So my question is whether this is an easy fix. And if so could any point me to the right instructions?

Meanwhile... it's a good thing I enjoy a lot of mono recordings :-)

Thanks

Not really an answer to your question, but it could be a bad tonearm wire, among other things. Those wires flex every time the lid is opened and closed.
