Need help with Technics SL-1301

Post by Reystavo » 15 Jan 2019 23:49

Hey guys,

Newb here on vinyl engine, this is in fact my first post. I recently bought a Technics SL-1301 that works like a dream. My issue is that I need hinges and a dust cover for it. Does anyone know of a hidden gem other than ebay for parts that are super hard to find and rare like this? I thought about getting one of the aftermarket ones on ebay but those don't come the hinges. Compatible parts would be fine too, are there other models that match the SL-1301 for dust covers and hinges. I've spent a few weeks looking and have finally decided to ask you all.

If there is anyone that can help please let me know. Thanks in advance for your time.

sfat170-01a is the part number for the hinges- discontinued
sfad134-01a is the part number for the dust cover.

Only way to know if parts are the same is to check for matching part numbers in the service manuals of other models. You can likely streamline your search by looking at one model from groups of models most likely to share parts:
- SL-1300 / SL-1400 / SL-1500
- SL-1600 / SL-1700 / SL-1800

The SL-1301 is a bit of an oddball, as it sits between the mk1 and mk2 models, so I'd look at both.

The Technics SL-1401 has the same hinges. I just purchased a SL-1301 and I have the same problem

They have hinges for the 1200. Don't know if they're adaptable to your 1501 or not. You might have to be creative with what you can rig. Take a look at some hardware stores too for various hinges. You might have to do some filing, cutting, drilling or something to make it work. Or, just remove the lid when you want to play, and set it back on when your done. That'll work too.

I have a SL1600 and a SL1700 MK2 that uses the same hinges and dustcover as my SL1301.
