SL 1200 tonearm part - Help Please!! - re-post

Post by csericks » 06 Nov 2018 16:31

I posted to the Turntables & Tonearms forum - sorry if I shouldn't be re-posting here

I find myself in need of the the coupling for the end of a Technics SL 1200 m3d (the part into which the headshell fits) to restore my SL 1200 m3d to working order. A botched tonearm rewire by an, apparently inexperienced, tech in Michigan rendered my once working table inoperable. Please Help my locate a part. Is this part from another Technics table, such as the SL-D1 or another SL-1*** a drop in replacement?
I have been in contact with KAB - very helpful, as always, but Kevin no longer stocks this part.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Finding that one part is challenging. Here's an ebay used tonearm pivot with wand. Which has the headshell connector. Better put your bid in on it.

Otherwise you'll just have to keep on searching.

Might be easier to find the entire tone arm assembly and just swap that out . May not cheap but if that's all it takes to get your used SL-1200 up and running again it's still worth it as the new SL-1200s are quite expensive .
