Here are the videos:

Tell me what you think.
I am not an expert but i am very paranoid. It does not give the impression to wobble but with the silver reflection on the surface it can mislead me.
I had before a Audio Technica LP120 and there was clearly a wobble
(scuse me for my english, i speak french)

I would return it for exchange. I have a 40 year old Technics direct drive, that sold for $180, that does not wobble at all. You did not buy a cheap turntable.

Re: Platter Wobble on Brand New SL-1200GR
My old SL-1200 M3D has a slight wobble similar to this . I never really did figure out what was causing it . I actually replaced the platter once but that did nothing . lol That being said I never noticed any impact on the sound from it so I just left it be . But seeing the price of this turntable you could send Technics the Video you made and ask them about it .

I hate to admit it but first I thought it was just the strobe area, but it seems like the platter is going up and down.
I doubt it would effect the sound, but it might behoove you to return it and show them. That is either a platter milling issue, or a spindle issue.

Refund by retailer...
no exchange, since I see that many people have the problem
Return to my LP120...

Nah while you may have this slight wobble make no mistake the SL-1200GR is still a much more capable turntable than the LP120 . As I was saying I do not believe a wobble like this affects sound quality , I never noticed any effect on mine . It's just annoying to look at I know .

While I agree that the 1200GR is tons better than the LP120, there is no excuse for platter wobble. I would've exchanged for one without wobble. I don't believe most of them wobble.

You should be able to measure the deviation - how much "wobble" is there ?

Sometimes defects get through any manufacturing process. That's what a warranty is for.

Re: Platter Wobble on Brand New SL-1200GR
If you buy a $1700 turntable, I would insist on as many exchanges as needed until you get one without wobble, notwithstanding the fact, that in the vast majority of cases, no exchange would be necessary.
