ATLP120 Not Loud Enough

Post by jcabanas » 10 Oct 2019 20:30

I have an ATLP120 and I have that paired with Klipsch R15PM speakers that have a built in pre amp and amp. Both my turntable and speakers are on the phono setting, but theyre just not loud enough. Especially with softer records even at full volume its not loud enough, its listenable but id like more volume. How can I fix this, is the pre amp in my speakers just not powerful enough, if so how do i fix this.

Not 100% familiar with your equipment, but it appears you are using 2 phono preamps when only 1 should be.
Either use the preamp on TT or powered speakers, not both.
i.e. set TT to line out and speakers to pre, or vise versa, witch ever sounds better.

That is going to happen with most mini and combined audio systems. To truly get satisfying volume and substance, you will need a stand alone amplifier with sufficient wattage, and wider range speakers. Research some brands and combinations to see which configuration you would like.

Set the turntable's output on line, and try it. Preamplifier on the Klipsch is likely control center without phono built in.
