Redrum, Power Corrupt$, 1989, undated re-issue files.
The CD was just listed on the CD thread. These are live tracks recorded at the El Dorado Saloon, and Oasis Ballroom in Sacramento.
Thrash, with a two-guitar attack.

I had forgotten all about this Live perfomance by the "Stones" from the '60s.

For those not familiar with "The Ed Sullivan Show .. it was a variety show that was all completely live... and nobody lip synced.
It's the same show that premiered The Beatles, live to the US audience :)

Louie, Louie

BTW, for those who do not know what 'Louie" refers to...
"Louie" is just slang for a (navy) lieutenant.

Also there is absolutely nothing pornographic in the lyrics.
It's just a about a guy telling his lieutenant that he has to go to see his gal. :)

The whole controversy started when some misheard the line "I tell her I'll never leave you again" to say I'll never lay you again. They then jumped to the erroneous conclusion that the rest of the lyrics must be pornographic .

An interesting note about the Kingsmen's original recording.....which was recorded in one take........
The singer starts come in a bit too early for the verse right after the musical bridge / guitar interlude. He quickly realized his mistake and started again in right spot .
From then on, the Kingsmen purposely repeated this mistake when performing it live as sort of an inside joke .
Watch as he does this in this video at around 2.00. :)

BTW.... the original 'Louie, Louie"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxedxkx88t0

Also, keep in mind that the original line is "me gotta go"..." not
we gotta go"
The lyrics make more sense with that in mind. :)

These files are nothing but amazing, free to download in some insane resolutions and bitrates. The production is fantastic and the performances as well. Enjoy!
