Sparta ST-220


The Sparta ST-220 was designed for broadcast applications using high compliance cartridges.

The arm was also sold as the Syntec S-220 and Japan Piezo PU-402.

Construction: light alloy arm, with low mass cartridge shell

Rotation: miniature precision ball bearing

Lateral balance is adjustable to compensate for variations in centre of gravity between various cartridges.

Tracking force adjustable by moving weight with locking screw.


Total length: 310mm

Effective length: 220mm

Overhang: 15mm

Offset angle: 22 degrees

Lateral balance: adjustable

Stylus pressure: 1 to 6g adjustable

Tracking error: + 4 degrees, - 1 degree
