The Manley Steelhead is a high quality, tube phono amplifier with switchable gain, impedance and capacitance.


MM impedance: 25, 50, 100, 200 and 47k ohms

MC impedance: 25, 50, 100, 200 and 400 ohms

Input capacitance: variable in 10pF steps from 10 to 1100pF

Gain steps: 50, 55, 60 or 65dB

Dynamic range: 101dB

Maximum output: +27dBm with 3% THD into 100kohm load


Overall, the Steelhead delivered the best vinyl playback I've heard from my system. It combined speed, frequency extension, resolution, harmonic structure, focus, air, stage depth, image specificity, and, most important, overall musical coherence - Michael Fremer Stereophile 12/2001
