The JH Formula 4 tonearm is a product of extensive research over a period of several years.

The need for such an item of audio equipment becoming increasingly evident with the significant advances in technology of the manufacturers of magnetic pick-ups and the appearance of ultra high compliance models.


Effective length: 240mm

Mounting distance: 225mm

Overhang: 15.2mm

Rear clearance: 65mm

Height adjustment: 45mm

Pivot: hardened steel needle resting in concave jewel rondel surrounded by silicone fluid

Pivot friction: below 0.005g at headshell

Effective mass: 4.05g (as seen by stylus)


The JH Forumla 4 arm is a tribute to it's designers and their awareness of the demands of their customers - Australian HiFi 1974

With all of the cartridges tested in the arm, we found tracking to be exemplary. The Forumla IV is extremely stable and all the cartridges tested gave satisfactory performance when played with a downforce close to the minimum recommended by the manufacturer - HiFi Review 1976
