Technics SL-6, B&O MMC 6000

Postby bigskywriter » 08 Jan 2003 03:36

I want to get a turntable that repeats record and tracks.  I'm looking at a Technics SL-6.   I have a JVC Manual turntable now.  It has a round S-shaped tonearm.  I have a B&O MMC6000 cartridge to play stereo and CD4 records. Does anyone know if I can get the MMC 6000 to work on the Technics SL-6....it's a straight tone-arm, tangential tracking. Thanks

At one time B&O made an adaptor to universal mount their cartridge don't know if it applies to yours or is still available, the pramanik stylus should work well for CD4 the one I currently use is an AT ML150, and the ML440 will also work(Having used it prior to the 150, is your SL6 a belt drive or direct?

A Technics SL3300 would be a good bet. It can do continuous repeat, or up to a 6 times repeat of a side of a record. It has not such a bad arm either :) I can't think of a record player than can repeat a certain track(s) though....maybe the ELP laser record player can....but those are $$$$$$$$$$

The universal adaptor for the B&O will work fine if it is standard mount on your SL6.   AT is Audio Technica .  I own about 1100 Quad LP's about 250 were CD4 which demodulator are you using?
