Cartridge thoughts while I wait for delivery...

...of a Pioneer A35 turntable. Cartridge replacement options? It has an old budget looking AT, but I don't know the model.
I'll get a more accurate tonearm mass after unpacking, but assuming it's ~16 grams. I'd like to keep the new cartridge cost under $150.

Thoughts from the crowd?
(Thanks in advance)

A Denon DL-110 would be good.

Cheers,

Seconded, just got the dl-110 and it is excellent.
Why are Cheeto's and Frito's so stinkin heavy?

Third the Denon DL-110. Might want to try a Nagaoka MP-110 also.
Both decent cartridges in the sub $150 range.

I'm in a similar situation. I have a Denon DL-103 on my Denon DP-52F, but I think a more compliant cartridge would be a better match. I'm leaning towards getting a Nagaoka MP-110. But maybe the HOMC Denon would be good?

I don't have a LOMC preamp right now.

I like the Denon 110 a lot, have one on my Technics 1200. However, I wouldn't recommend it for the pioneer.
I have a Pioneer 41 which I am pretty sure is similar to what OP has. I run a Pioneer PLC9 on it, the cartridge it shipped with, with a new Transcriber stylus. It works well with the heavy cartridge and has a nice, smooth sound, excellent separation. For most records, I prefer it to the Technics 1200 with the DL 110.
You can find them for around $60 on ebay. Yeah, I know it is an ancient (40 years old?) cartridge and yeah, it is conical stylus equipped, but it really sounds pretty good on these old wooden stables with the straight, no anti skate tone arms.
Of course, all bets are off if you don't have that original heavy headshell, the one with one knurled screw on top.

I recieved the table, it's got a AT 12-E and I ordered the Denon. The table is working very well during testing; all the auto functions are spot on and it's surprisingly (happily) quiet. I'll update when the new cart is in.

The AT-12E is an excellent cartridge, too.
