I've recently resurrected a Dual 510 that's been sitting on a closet shelf for over a decade, and am looking to replace the cartridge and stylus, which are perhaps 30+ years old. My current listening setup (a Sony sound bar, used also for television, movies, and gaming) doesn't demand the highest quality cartridge/stylus combination, and I'm also on a budget.
Would something like the Shure M97xE cartridge ($54.95 at Amazon) be suitable? Any suggestions for a reasonably priced yet high-quality stylus? Would the stylus that comes with the Shure cartridge even need replacing, given my relatively low-tech speaker situation? I'm a complete novice at this, so forgive my ignorance.
Many thanks in advance for your assistance.
