Dumb question on GL75 arm

Have you tried that little pin in front of the arm? It looks like it could hold the headshell connector in place.. connector and wiring.

I'm certainly not up to surgery, major or minor, but thank you all for your suggestions. I've put the whole thing in the hands of the eBay complaints procedure, since the seller seemed strangely reluctant to reply to emails.
