Advice please

Postby tonygibson » 14 Aug 2012 18:39

Hi there from a new member looking for some advice please.
I've had a PT1 in PT too spec for many years (i have to admit to not using it much lately i'm afraid), but it's back in use now.
The company which used to set it up for me is long gone.
I have recently purchased some new high quality vinyl having heard some at a friend's house, but on trying to play them my platter is sitting to low for the wieght of these and it hits the pulley.I understand that it's just a question (normally) of raising the platter with the side screws - but will this make it sit too high for my average old vinyl?
And are there any stupid newbie mistakes i should avoid?
Thanks in advance

Tony

this could be a case of trial and error...if you're using 180/200 gram vinyl then you will need to raise the left hand side adjuster until the platter just clears the pulley, subsequently when you use you're 'average old vinyl' it should be ok....just don't fiddle too much with the suspension :D
