Which vintage (pre 1984) Luxman TT's are good and not too expensive and easy to fix?
There is a general dearth of these coming up for sale anywhere.

I just got a PD-272 off eBay. Got real lucky... the Micro-Seiki arm on that baby is worth what I paid for the table. It also included a Signet tk7 cart, also worth the price of admission. $400 for all. Direct drive, very solid. I can recommend one of these.

I've used a PD-272 for the last 12 years and its been faultless. Just remember to to rotate both speed trim controls every so often to remove any contamination and it holds speed rock steady. Its got levelling feet and installing new carts is a doddle. VTA can be changed with minimum bother by loosening a couple of screws at the back holding the arm on a central pillar.

I was lucky to acquire mine by trading in a few LPs! The seller didn't know about the Luxman brand. He advertised the table as a Teac which was the make of the phono plugs! Doh! Its no wonder the shop folded after a couple of years.

I have owned a PX 100 since 1982, (original owner). The thing has never been serviced, other than playing with different cartridges, and it is still absolutely perfect. I am trying to get information on whether it has Micro Seiki pedigree or not and no one on the forum seems to know. Bottom line, 272 is a great table, if you can find a PX 100, I reccomend it, 30 years old and my Clearaudio Emotion barely surpasses it!! :D

I saw PX-99 for $250, but from my research, it isn't that great.
