Garrard 86sb Help Needed

Hi Everybody...
I just got a Garrard 86sb from a friend. It needs some attention but mechanically The table turns and everything else seems to working.
I am brand new to the TurnTable club and thus (very sadly) have absolutely no clue where to start.
It is missing the Cartridge & Needle. Forgive me if I have naming of the parts incorrect. Anyway... where do I start? What am I looking for?

Hi Alec...
Thanx for the reply and link to manual. Will read it and see how it goes. Do you have any suggestions as to what Cartidge and Stylus to use?
Hope I understand you right. Will plug into a Yamaha AX-592 Natural Sound Stereo Amplifier that I baught with my very first paycheck and Mission 704 Floorstanding Speakers. Both baught with my very first paycheck. LOL Any suggestion will be apreciated?
