That looks like a real good haul for $13. I have that first Wes Montgomery. I don't think it's hip to say so, but I dig it and would welcome the others if I found nice copies.

Near mint record condition and the sleeve is still shrink wrapped in mint shape.

awesome!

Thank you, I was happy to steal it for $3.

Today's gets are the old fashioned way, bought new.

I bought ...

STATIC-X - CULT OF STATIC
DIO - KILLING THE DRAGON PICTURE DISC @ 25% OFF FOR $20
HATEBREED - FOR THE LIONS ... 75% OFF DBL LP $5!!

And I did get a used one in the mail from Discogs, OZ - III WARNING a rather rare metal lp for $15 on Combat records in great mint shape.

Right moment right place...

In a record shop someone that was trading didn't know that his copy of Gorillaz - Demon Days was very rare and collectible.

Not even the shop owner knew it and I was asked to pay only £20.00 for an almost mint copy. Sometimes I can't believe my luck.

Cheers

I came away from a local charity shop with three old Chris Rea albums:
Whatever to Benny Santini
Deltics
Tennis

All in very good nick. The only downside is the covers have sticky labels on them. If I remove them, I'll spoil the cover :(
Cheers

Mint 1st pressing with credits insert & sticker track listing on the rear. No fan club flyer though :(

Mint early pressing, no poster.

Reissue on Fame, vinyl looks mint, but a little crackly, could do with a trip though the Knosti

Another near mint one.

mint

And finally:

dog rough, noisy as hell, but £0.00 as a tester to see if I fancy buying a nicer copy when my pusher gets one in. which after listening I do, it's a great album.

Anyway £20 the lot which is pretty good IMHO

Sticky labels (not the water soluble gum) can easily be removed if you soak them in lighter fluid (the can with the spout). You can then lift the edge carefully with a finger nail and add more fluid along the edge where you are peeling as you slowly remove the label. Just take your time. You can do the same with old sticky tape. Keep some kitchen roll handy so that you can wipe off the gum with more lighter fluid. It takes a few goes and use new paper so you are not just spreading the removed glue.

Garage sale haul! I grabbed 20 albums out of a batch of approximately 500. Obviously listened to someone who respected the records themselves but many of the covers were were just SOOO thrashed. Musty, mouse-eaten and moldy. Two stacks of the records had some sort of goo all over the inside spine as if someone dumped antifreeze on them. I didn't even go through those. Still, some real special albums, for me anyway, and as already mentioned, the records themselves are all in near-mint condition. Here are the best of the bunch. Sorry the pic is so blurry. I think I'm most excited about the Blues Magoos (still in original shrink-wrap, with comic book insert intact) and the Cycle Psychos (songs about motorcycles with dirt track noises between the songs!)

Well now, here's what I picked up today:

First off, I found a very nice Record box at the local dump while dropping off my trash and accumulated beverage bottles. Solid build plywood with a nice pearloid handle...the records purchased fit in this case.
Here are the LP's, all in good condition, except as noted.
50 cents each at a local yard sale!

Cowboy Junkies > The Trinity Sessions
Stevie Wonder > Fulfillingness' First Finale
Bob Dylan > Slow Train Coming
Stray Cats > Rant n' Rave
Steve Earl > Guitar Town
Santos & Johnny > (yes, the Sleepwalk LP...bought for the cover...vinyl is toast)
Gary U.S. Bonds > Dance 'til Quarter To Three with U.S. Bonds
The Desert Rose Band > Running
Rodney Dangerfield > Losing
Stephane Grappelli > Homage To Django
Julian Bream > Guitarra, The Guitar In Spain
Big Bad Zydeco, Rocking Dopsie & The Cajun Twisters
Muddy & The Wolf with Sumlin, Spann, Dunn, Watts, Bloomfield, Butterfield, Winwood, Clapton, & Wyman.
Stray Cats > Built For Speed
Johnny Burnette & The Rock 'N Roll Trio > Tear It Up
Sir Douglas Quintet > Mendocino
The Ventures > Play The Country Classics (mono pressing)
Linda Ronstadt > Prisoners In Disguise
Kenny Baker > Dry & Dusty
Chuck Berry > The Great Twenty~Eight
Bruce Springsteen > Nebraska
Emmylou Harris > Evangeline
JR. Walker & The All Stars > Road Runner
George Harrison > Cloud Nine
Link Wray & The Wraymen
ZZ Top > Deguello
Ronnie Hawkins > Rockin'
patti smith group > EASTER
Elvis Presley > The Million Dollar Quartet
Dire Straits > Brothers In Arms
The Ventures (mono pressing...bought for cover...after a bit of chitchat, also acquired 45rpm freebee of Perfido/No Trespassing with sleeve, same cover as LP...nice folks at that sale)
the monotones > Who Wrote The Book Of Love? The Hull recordings 1957-1962

Heading back tomorrow to look through the books...everything half price!

I found Rick Wakeman"Journey to the Centre of the Earth"
Gordon Lightfoot "Gords Gold"
Bruce Springsteen "Born in the USA"
Billy Joel "Glass Houses and Innocent Man"
Wakeman and Lightfoot covers are rough but vinyl is in excellent shape,Springsteen and Joel are very nice both cover and vinyl.

Good thing you don't listen to the covers!

I'm one who usually doesn't care what the sleeve shape is in if the record is in good shape. Nice to have a good sleeve jacket yes I agree but if not available I won;t turn down buying something with a tortured cover if the record is great.

Chances are one will come across a half decent jacket with a crappy record in it at a flea market.

I have a couple I need jackets for Joe Walsh There Goes The Neighborhood and Rainbow - Down The Earth. The Rainbow jacket actually was spray painted for some reason with navy blue striping lol. Joe Walsh album ... was at Goodwill in the original inner sleeve with NO jacket MINT shape for 99 cents. Just figured I may find a jacket later ..... I hope.

Thelonious Monk Big Band and Quartet - In Concert (1963) [Columbia Reissue]

Very very good recording and fine Jazz music!

I´m glad I bought this one in brand new sealed condition. :)
