Hi all,
Thanks for the compliments!
Dennis, I can send you a thin wall spanner - it you want to make one yourself, it is a section of 5/16" brass tubing (a standard size for modelling supplies, e.g. radio controlled models) one end of which has been squeezed into a hex shape around a 1/4" AF (across flats) allen key.
I can also make a Rega arm board for you; it will be a carbon/balsa/carbon sandwich like the modern Funk Firm ones, but cut square (the Funk ones are squared with rounded corners. I'll send you a PM.
The PSU/speed controller is a DIY effort; the power switch is from an eB*y seller in Hong Kong, the aluminium heatsink case, rotary switch, aluminium knob and toroidal transformer are all from rs-online, and the other fittings (IEC socket at rear, internal PCB, power supply regulator kit etc.) are from Maplin - a UK electronics retailer.
I may well publish a description of how to build it online - I need to sort out some web space and get my PT DIY instructions back online - and I could part-build a kit, but it needs the original speed controller and motor from out of the PT, and some DIY work on the PT to get it working again - I drill a hole in the back of the plinth and mount a DIN socket.
Arthur at the Funk Firm may well be able to supply some suspension springs; I'm sure he will reply eventually!
cheers,
Tim
