Coral BX-9 Speakers

Postby Cabbage Patch Elvis » 12 Jul 2012 04:34

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out here. I have a line on a pair of Coral BX-9 speakers that appear to be in really great shape, going for $50. The ad says they are 6 watt, 5 volt, with 7" speakers. I'm not really savvy about things like voltage and wattage, so I don't know if they'd be right for me. Anybody have any knowledge of these? What setting would they be appropriate for? Any help on this would be great.
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

The Coral full-range drivers are very well regarded, but don't bring quite the prices of Lowther.
These would be very good in a more intimate setting, could be fed with a T-amp.

Cheers,
Alec

Thanks for the help, Alec. I'd probably better pass on these. I need to study up on my stereo knowledge. I like the idea of having a nice vintage setup, both for the sound and the style. However, I need to expand my knowledge a bit. Luckily there's this site and folks like you to help us hobble along. Thanks again!
