Look into Marantz PM5003 and Epos speakers. Not too expensive, new.

I like the Marantz, but I'm trying to stay under 70-80$....is that possible? or am I out of luck? Also, is my guitar amp a power amplifier? because I have a phono-preamp, so all I really need is an amp...right?

A guitar amp is a mono power amplifier. Will it take a line-level input?

Cheers,

I would tell you, but knowing absolutely nothing about sound....I have no clue haha. Its a little epiphone amp...standard with the purchase of a new guitar. So, its not very high quality. But if it did....would this be the set-up? My player--(cables that are attached to player)---phono preamp--(???)---guitar amp---computer speakers. the ??? is for the cable that attaches the preamp to the amp, i was wondering what its called and where i can get it.

How about turntable => phono pre-amp => computer => computer speakers?
You could get a patch-cord to go to your guitar amp, but the sound would be mono, and not hi-fi.

that sounds amazing. haha I've been trying to figure out a way to hook that up since day 1! :) haha so for a final few questions.....I have a macbook pro, and some computer speakers with a subwoofer. Do I need any software to play the music? and where do the cables go? Also, could this set-up work? turntable > phono pre-amp > guitar pre-amp > power amplifier? just in case my computer speaker set up doesn't work.....thanks so much for all your help! oh, and where could i find those phono preamp to computer cables?

Get a cable that has 2 RCA phono plugs on one end, and a 1/8" stereo plug on the other.
Turntable => phono preamp => mike input on Macbook (second little hole from front, on left side).
Audacity is free software for making digital recordings.
In system preferences, sound panel, set input to external, turn gain all the way down.
If you have a stereo power amp, you only need a volume control between the phono preamp and the power amp. http://phonopreamps.com/ have phono pre-amps with volume control, at reasonable prices.

okay, I got it! I got it from radio shack, it fits in all of my plugs for the computer and phono preamp. Now what do I do from here? just open audacity after changing the input to external....and bam! I'm done? where do I connect my computer speakers if my audio port is being used by the preamp?

The first little hole on the left is the audio output, the second is the audio input, then SD card, USB etc. Rad the manual.
In Audacity, preferences, set to stereo and to playthrough. You might have to start Record, then pause.
Look for an older Integrated amp or receiver, and better speakers.
I don't know what your computer speakers (with sub) are. The Altec Lansing sets lack a good top end.
