I'm a BIG believer in playing singles - I believe a clean single will sound better than hearing it on a greatest hits album - although some big ol' sixties Greatest Hits records do very well.
Had a good day collecting yesterday, several that were nice enough to play without cleaning -

Beach Boys - Barbara Ann
Beach Boys - Heroes and Villains
The Paramounts - Poison Ivy (isn't very good!)
Chuck Berry - No Particular Place To Go
Slim Harpo - Baby Scratch My Back

Beach Boys singles are just wonderful to listen to. "No Particular Place To Go" also has a really good sound, sounds just like you want Chuck to sound, with a substantial solo at the end. Amazing bass on the (UK Pye International) b-side, "Liverpool Drive". We don't see many old American Blues singles in UK, so delighted to get a Slim Harpo (on Excello label).
