Can't re-attach my Califone 1430k's turntable

Postby cringkamp » 26 Jun 2012 03:12

I recently purchase a Califone 1430K, but when it shipped to me the turntable had come loose off the base of the player. I can't figure out how to re-attach the thing. The C clip is still attached, it's that whole piece that's come out. There's also a long silver looking piece (looks almost like a paperclip that's been unwound) that I have no idea what to do with. Sorry if I'm being vague, but I have no idea what's going on.

I'm in no way an expert on these, but having had a quick Google I'd say the platter isn't designed to be removable, so there's probably something broken I'm afraid, in which case you'd need to find a detailed design drawing on the internet if you want to try and fix it yourself, (and I can't find one), or pay a visit to your local hi-fi shop to see if they can help.

If it was broken in shipping due to poor packing, I would be trying to get a refund from the seller. Most sellers do not know how to properly pack a turntable/record player to prevent damage.
