Michell Syncro

Hi there, first post
I have just acquired a Syncro/RB 300 arm and stylus for what I thought was a good price at 100 pound sterling, only thing wrong is a crack at the rear R/H corner which I can live with as it is going into a corner.

Having just set it up and played a few records I am impressed at the sound compared to my Linn LP12.

Question is, as it sounds ok to me should I adopt the "if it ain't broke why fix it approach" or is there any maintenance I should be doing in any case.

I believe It had not been used for quite some time, the belt had been detached from the platter for storage and looks ok.

It'll probably need some oil and a new belt.

£100? A steal, the arm is worth that!

Given Michell a ring (not on Fridays) +44.(0208).953.0771 and ask them what they propose to get the Syncro up to snuff. Expect this to range from decent maintenance up to a part conversion into a Mycro, depending on the age of the Syncro. Also mention the crack, you'll never know what they come up with.

And if you renovate it, please document it with plenty of pictures here...
