Rude-and-crude while you search for the elegant solution: Fender-washers glued with epoxy. They come at many thickensses so you can mix to get to the correct weight. If the center hole is too small, drill it out to about 2mm larger in diameter. Use a minimum of three washers, the center of which should be drilled bit larger than the outer two. Insert an O-ring into this area that is slightly smaller than the shaft on the arm (i.d.), and slightly larger than the drilling (o.d.). This will be your centering/friction-point so you can adjust the weight and also the resonance damper. If the thing gets thick enough to wobble, use two O-rings or more as needed. Source the O-rings at any industrial supply house if your local big-box does not have them in their flat-pull-out-boxes aisle.
Been there, done that. Ultimately, I found a bit of solid brass rod that I machined and tapped for the weight I needed. But the fender-washers were a reasonable stand-in until I found the pretty solution.
Let me hunt around a bit - I may have that (mains-powered) head-amp sitting about somewhere. e-mail me off-forum. No worries that it could be yours - I have owned it since 1978.
