The 9cc works pretty good for me. But the SME tone arms look very sexy :D

the 9cc make look sexy, but if you want to tone down the pops and clicks, you need something else. Maybe try damping the 9cc with some shrinkwrap. Will mess up the looks though.

I'm amazed that at your young age you are turning out such amazing quality and have so much passion about what you do. Kudos buddy and keep up the good work.

Quick question is the ball fixed?

Hey I'll be 25 in November!!! But I am still very young. My dad got me into DIY audio :)

Yes it is fixed. Works like a champ. Speed is very accurate.

I saw from your other posts that you were 24 and was amazed then at your dedication and skills Most 24 year olds are into reving cars pulling girls and drinking ;)

Being fixed will the ball wear out faster? Will/do you have some kind of resin bush to stop this? You can tell my knowledge of this sort of thing is limited.

I also have an aversion to dropping $ on things I can make. Very fine workmanship!

I'm very mature for my age :)

Only time will tell if it get's worn out but 304 SS is pretty strong. There is plenty of oil in there. No matter what, if something needs to be replaced i can make it quick.

My job title is CNC machinist 8)

I am really glad to see that this kind of workmanship is not being lost as the old masters retire and die. Not enough young people are going into the trades, a real shame. Much better option then getting a degree in pygmy philosophy with a $100k student loan debt. I think you have the makings of a small business here, and I would be willing to invest. think about it and let me know.

It would be nice to make a living from this. Still a little young. My job pays me very well but maybe in the future :)
I have made numerous things from scratch. Here's a 12 outlet (EMI filtered only) distribution box and many faceplates i made for DAC's, Pre Amps and power amps.

I really enjoy making these things :)

Next up: A phone amp and a dual 12" subwoofer.

Excellent work, great workmanship and quality. The bearing, the face plates the lot.

I have gone away from DIY at the moment as too many other things in life to keep me entertained, but anything I have ever done just pales in comparrison. I may as well just go hide away in a little dark corner and be jealous.

Keep up the great work and who knows?
