was it difficult, how long did it take you and do you get all the bits in the kit?

Initially I decided to buy the pcb and components from Roy. I thought I would source the valves and case locally as they bumped up the shipping cost. I then realised when I searched for a case that I couldn't find anything suitable and I ended up getting the chassis from Roy's US supplier.
I found the build straightforward but I wouldn't recommend this project to anyone without some electronics experience, especially in view of the high voltages involved. I bought a variac off EBay so I could gradually increase the mains voltage in case I had made any mistakes with the build. I know that it will get further use as I'm hooked now and in time will buy a power amp kit.
It's difficult to say how long it took me. I hadn't built anything for years and never dabbled with valves. I proceeded slowly trying to make the best job I could and to avoid mistakes.
Roy previously made the PH14 which has the same circuit. In response to people like myself asking about higher spec components he started the PH15 with space for larger caps. Roy offers options on components.

It's a pity we live so far apart otherwise you could hear my PH15. I am very pleased with it. I would like to put a window into the front panel if it doesn't weaken screening so I can see the valves glowing!

I had been considering the word audio phono3 kit but it's a lot more expensive. It'll be interesting to hear your impressions when you have been using it for a while.

Just changed the HT voltage control resistor from 270k to 249k so now the hum has gone. See link to forum for details.
Been listening to Ella and Satchmo and it was so smooth and realistic. I am a definite convert to valves and kits.
Maybe I will play with tube rolling. The best thing is that I don't feel any need to improve the deck.
