Mean,Green record machine

I thought I'd just share some crappy pics of my second deck - now that it's finished.
The original black P3 24 plinth was just a bit too boring for me - I'd ideas of building my own but the thought of getting a good finish was a bit daunting.

Then I saw this for sale on ebay - turned out was only 5 minutes away from home - so I just had to 'bid to win'

Spec is
24v motor, Edwards Audio sub-platter, ceramic ball, Edwards 'little belter' belt, Acrylteller deep platter, Audio Origami RB251, GT weight, Denon DL-110 and TT-PSU.

Litening to American Garage by Pat Metheny as I type and it sounds very tidy indeed - I use an old Revolver Pig rubber clamp to hold the record against the platter.
I did have an RB303 on order to fit - but there appears to be difficulty in getting hold of one at the moment - so the 251 will have to do for now.

Total cost was a bit less than a RP6 - reckon it will sound pretty close

Yep, It gives that 'millenium falcon' look to the arm.

I've had all kinds of counterweights for my Rega arms - but only hung on to the GT and the tecnoweight.

I really like the profiled edge of the P3 2000 plinth - but I don't think it was that popular at the time. The finish on this and the current glossy plinths is very brittle and easy to damage unfortunately. Drilling the holes for the arm bolts made flakes of paint come off the bottom - even though I used a sharp bit and put a piece of wood under the plinth and drilled right through into the wood.
