The unthinkable has happened: I'm leaving the Rega camp. So up for sale is this lovely Groovetracer Reference subplatter. It's the complete package, including the subplatter (well, duh!), the replacement bearing ball, the magnetic stick to lift the stock ball out of the bearing house, what's left of the supplied oil (enough to get you up and running properly) and the installation manual.
Why should you get this upgrade for your Rega? Simple: the Groovetracer destroys the stock phenolic subplatter. I've reinstalled the original on my Planar 3 and it's more up-front in-yer-face than the Groovetracer, but lacks the increased depth and width in the sound stage, bottom end extension, treble control and speed stability that the Reference subplatter provides.
The item up for sale is in very good condition (I take good care of my stuff). Asking price is US$135/UK£87/€108 + shipping. I'm located in The Netherlands and willing to ship abroad, but please be aware of the shipping costs which may become substantial if you're in a far away place...
Cheers,
Frank.
