My $1.68 STARCASTLE eBay purchase came today!!! One of those estate liquidators sold it so I wasn't expecting much since they wouldn't know a good shape record from shinola.

It is virtually mint, light sleeve paper scrapes etc. It was a little dirty though but once I cleaned it .... beautiful sound. No noise record with quiet lead ins. The sleeve is a little ring worn but nothing too homely imo.

Anyway I am waiting for a couple more records in the mail from"eBay" and hope I make out as well with those. I got each of those for $1 so it won't be a huge let down if not great.

Anyway .... wanted this album here for a while.

Bought a copy of U2's Joshua Tree from a Canadian... I don't know anything about Canadian pressings. I was happy because I won the auction for 4.50, but then 14.00 shipping made me sad. I'm thinking that buying vinyl online just isn't worth it because of shipping costs.

I also bought Obscured by Clouds from a Japanese seller. I don't know if it is original. The auction said $4 for shipping. Then I got an email demanding more. Then I got an email saying it shipped. I don't know what to believe anymore.

The ad usually states "$4 is not the shipping!!!!" and they list an airmail rate of usually $12 to $14. It's eBay's fault and not the international seller's fault.

I haven't had any problems ... if on ebay check the seller's location and don't bid.

I got 100 plus for 99p on Ebay yesterday. Picking them up on Sunday. Then I'll know whether there's anyting worth keeping. The last time I bought a 99p job lot, I kept a dozen or so for myself, made a tenner selling a few on Ebay, and the rest are going towards my next 99p job lot sale

It's hardly big business, but it keeps me out of trouble and gives me something to do
