Roger Waters: The Wall Live!!!!!!

Got home last night, had to fight tooth and nail to get there. I drove 250 miles to Austin, TX. Now I'm sitting in my seat and I'm about as excited as a person can be. Pink Floyd has been my favorite band since I was about 5 years old, and I think this might beat Dallas Symphony Orchestra does Pink Floyd as the best show I have ever seen.

We'll see. Pictures to follow, and if I can figure out YouTube there might be videos. I can't speak my excitement!!!!

First half of the show complete, now we'll switch to disc 2 and see what happens. So far, epic. Everything I hoped it would be.

Sad news folks, my battery on my phone died shortly after my
previous post.... :( :(

I'll get what I have up on the intarwebs tomorrow. Sorry I can't do more, but as they say in the transportation industry, "(crap) happens".

All I have to say is this was definitely the best show I have ever seen. And no lies, during Comfortably Numb my buddy and I sparked up our lighters and pointed and waved at Roger and Roger pointed and waved back. 8) 8)

I wish my phone had lasted long enough to catch this, but it didn't so you'll just have to trust me. After all what good would it do me to lie about such a thing.

Anyway, I'm going to try to get some sleep before I have to drive home in the morning. Hopefully my excitement won't keep me up all night (what's left of it anyway).

I was lucky enough to see RW perform The Wall almost a year ago at the O2 in London. I agree it was the most amazing gig ever. The visuals were truly stunning.

I've also been a PF fan for many years, The Wall being one of my favorites. Glad you got to see it, no doubt a gig never to be forgotten.

Ok, I'm working on getting my photos from my phone to my PC so I can get them sized and such somewhat more easily. But if you want to see the most amazing moment of my life, another person (who had better seats than me, and better battery life) captured the moment when Roger waved at me. You can't see me in the shot, but when I get my pictures up, you'll see that it was directed at my section. We were in the front row sitting basically on top of the wall on the right hand side of the stage. Check out from about 1:05 to 2:20. he clearly acknowledges those of us in the cheap seats (which were nearly empty I might add, but the rest of the house was packed)a couple of times.

I'll get the pictures up today, I promise!

You will need to excuse the very poor quality on these pictures because I used my cell phone to get them. I realized about halfway between Dallas and Austin that I didn't bring a real camera and that I probably should have. Anyway I've only got pictures from the first half of the show because android phones are real battery munchers so we get what we get.

This is where my ticket said I was supposed to sit but no one showed up on the first row so we moved up.

I had taken about 30 pictures but most of them didn't turn out well at all and are taken within a few seconds of these so there wasn't much point in posting all of them.

I had taken video of the first 10 minutes of the show, but I guess I screwed it up because my phone didn't save it (two things that rarely mix well: beer and technology). Also took video of Mother and Young Lust, but my relationship with the speakers was such that the microphone on my phone was clipping almost the entire time, so I won't burden your ears with that mess when there are already better videos on youtube by other people.

Hope you guys enjoy the photos!

Great story!

I saw roger in Sydney Australia in 2002 it was a gift from my best friend for my 22 birthday. We were really anticipating this show so we decided to line up at the ticket wicket at 4 am on the day the tickets went on sale. We were the first in line. The next person didn't line up until 930 tickets went on sale at 10. We got The BEST seats in the house front row dead center. Roger was less than 10 feet away. It was amazing. As we were 22 we arrived well stocked with a hip flask and 5 or so PRD's. (Pre rolled doobies) About song 3 or so was another brick in the wall pt. 2 so we fired one up and tried to pass it around we soon realized that the only other people as keen for the tickets as us (or had the funds to pay for top seats) we people that were 22 in the 80's and had left their pot smoking days long ago. We had no takers. We were 22 so on the first couple notes of shine on you crazy diamond we fired up #2. Once again tried to pass it around no takers. We should have realized we didn't fit in when we were the only ones in the section not wearing a suit. (probably board shorts and flip flops) but we could care less we were being sweat on by Roger Waters. The next time we fired on up the security guard that was standing 20 feet away the whole show finally had to step in and say " hey guys I don't care if your smoking pot but stop bugging everyone with it." so we stopped. What an amazing show that was.

Hope this gets through I typed it on my phone.

I guarantee that you will enjoy yourself!

My 22 year old life is now complete since I have seen one of my favorite musicians. I just hope I can do this again before I die! Hopefully with better seats.

These were very good if you're interested in the production side of things, as we could see both side of the wall (and lets face it, Roger probably wouldn't have noticed us if we were in the middle of the crowd). I just wish I'd had $500 available for front center, Ianibby! That's wicked!

I can't remember what the tickets were 10 years ago but 265 seems to ring a bell. One of the best birthday gifts of my life.

Still would have been a hair outside my current entertainment budget... But definitely worth the coins if it were available and definitely an awesome gift, you've got some good friends!

I think my ticket, t-shirt, and program are going in a shadow-box to forever grace the wall of my listening area (no pun intended).

At the time we were travelling in Australia doing the backpack thing all we really cared about was

1. The surf
2. Girls
3. Entertainment

Shelter and food were waaaaaaaaaay down the list. GM times have changed. Well I'm glad the show was everything you were hoping for.
