Dual 1257 platter spins wrong direction

Postby RaveCrusader » 28 Sep 2009 02:50

Can anyone help me understand why on occasion my dual platter decides to spin in the wrong direction. I correct this by unplugging the TT, but there has to be something causing this?

A little late with a reply but mine did the same thing when I plugged it in for the first time. I simply unplugged it and turned the plug over (reversed the polarity of the blades) and it turned correctly.

Howdy.
I'm new around here, finding this place while trying to re-do my 1249... which is a whole different book.

Anyway, I don't know the exact model y'all have, but I can assure you that reversing the AC plug has nothing to do with motor rotation direction.

I would think that this was probably being caused by a weak capacitor.
If this continues to be a problem, you should be able to just "start" the platter in the correct direction with your finger, as you start the player.
