Hmm... Those Japanese manuals are something... the manual for my mother's toyota says something like "Warning, the airbag may fail to operate if the car falls down a hole". Nothing about demons though.

That's great, and we never do find out what the brand is! Just as well. Prior to this, the best I had seen was the manual to a friend's Japanese outboard boat engine, which referred to the "honorable choke."

I used to get error messages from my European IT colleagues for a pan European computer system.

Some were obvious as to what had gone wrong. Some, were less so ;). For example :

"Beware!! For the error is none!"
"The lady, she has grown a moustache"
"The dog eats it's tail"

Translation is an art, not a science :D

"If you fail banishing of audio demon, your failure. Much dishonour of family name. Suggest immediate death by Seppuku."

Good public relations, that company has! Their CD player breaks down beyond a DIY repair, and the suggested solution, you kill yourself.

I think that the guy "helping" the poor unfortunate who was having problems was maybe playing a joke on him and not really translating what was on the page....

He has a history of replying to want ads on the internet & spoiling the advertisers day: http://dontevenreply.com/index.php
