Not a turntable technically, but a Pioneer Motor Unit -- looking a bit like a drop-in for a Technics Sp10 or similar. (or a garrard 401).

Likely a Japan-only production... Anyone ever come across one of these ?

Really robust construction here, likely a broadcast machine (can't say I like the looks of that thrustpad, though.. @ link) Presuming this is a subplatter/beltdrive .. are those pitch controls on the fascia ? (wonder if so whether mechacnical or electronic...)

Can anyone offer more on this ? Thanks

Old Pioneer thrustpads were Delrin, I think. They have all disintegrated, but are easy to replace, as you can see.
