Garrard 401/301 tonearm choice

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone out there can part some pears of wisdom.

I am thinking of buying a Garrard 401 and later a 301 and looking to choosing a suitable tonearm.Ideally I am looking for an arm that is versatile that can use a variety of different cartridges up to 16 grams.
I was thinking of a SAEC 308SW or Micro Seiki MA 505LX range if any one of you have any experience with these arms fitted to a Garrard 401 or 301 I would be interested to hear from you.
I also heard that Garrard t.t work best with 12' arm or is that just a myth.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

My choice is a rosewood single pivot made in China. If you are lucky you will get one plug and play but it may need some work to get it working right like mine did, but the work was well worth the effort if you are handy. It may be the combination of two tier plinth, arm pillar separated from the chassis plinth, cart, step up and phono stage but I don't think I am boasting just stating a fact that this set up is simply stunning.

I have a 401 with a 9" SME V - great. Another with an SME 3009 S2, beautiful. And I am rebuilding a 301 with an SME 3012R. I like them optically best with the classic SME's
