Direct Drive - Sony PS2250 / Jelco 370H / Plywood plinth / PVC foam platter mat / AT OC9/MLII

Belt Drive - Thorens TD125 MKII / LAD(Jelco 370D) / PVC Foam platter mat / Acrylic & PVC Foam sandwich armboard / Nagaoka MP20

Idler Drive - So far I have only owned a working GL75 but I have a Thorens TD135 in need of some major restoration so I'll have to see what that's like when it's done.

The one I have now. JVC QL-50/Grace707mk2/NOS V15VMR.

I stupidly sold my Technics SL1700mk2 a couple of years ago. I had it since the late 70's and was in perfect condition but it never tracked as well as the Grace arm I have now does.

I used to own - and technically still own - a Versa Dynamics 1.1 table equipped with vacuum hold-down and an air bearing straight-line tonearm and platter. I had just made a major upgrade and traded in a VPI TNT v1 with ETII arm for a lightly used Versa which soon blew out some kind of air regulator valve and went into the dealer's shop. This was 10 years ago when the economy started to suck and the manufacturer went under before it could be repaired. A few months went by waiting for the owner to find some help but then he went bankrupt too. Now, I would love to track it down since I have finished 2 tech-school degrees - one in HVAC the other in factory automation and I think I could fix it myself. At least, I would like to track down the cartridge (a $3K Benz with about 200 hours).

I am currently in the market for a good used table because ten years of only CD's is driving me crazy.

My present turntable is a rock solid performer. VPI Extended Aries 11 with a VPI 12.6 tonearm, upgraded platter, SDS motor drive,HR-X Stainless Steel Center Weight, 300 RPM motor, Periphery Ring Clamp, and Lyra Helicon cartridge. In fairness to all the other ones I've owned, it is playing into equipment light years better than they ever did. I do have a nostalgic fondness for my old B&O 1700 and NAD 7020 receiver but it's a mid-fi combo at best. B&O turntables were great tables for people who lacked the ability or patience to set up their tables. Just get it kind of level and you were good to go. Two other notable tables I've owned were the Linn Sondek LP-12 and an Oracle Mark 1.

If my Sota Saphire suddenly expired, I would get another. Feels like home.

My current Pink Triangle Anniversary/Battery PSU/Audiomods Series 5. Second owner from new, hugely upgraded battery supply, stunning, (and beautiful). It's my third Pink Triangle turntable after LPT/Tabriz - Export/Satisfy,SMEIV,AudiomodsIV. Many others went before but once you're Pink, you're Pink! :D
Pink Triangle Anniversary(Batt)/Audiomods Series 5/ZYX R100 Fuji - NVA Phono 2 - Music First Copper - NVA A80s - Martin Logan Scenarios.

I have for 15 years now had a Rega P9/P900 TT and it's been the best I've had. Comparison with those I had before it is difficult as my system now is so much better than I even thought possible earlier.
My earlier TTs include Garrard 301/Ortofon/OrtofonSPU, ERA Mk6/SME 3009, Thorens 321/SME3009, Pink Triangle/Sumiko Premier FT3, etc.

Now I'm selling the Rega and starting DD with a Technics SL-1200MkII. Techie is still being modded...

My current turntable is a modified Technics SL1210 and is the best I've owned. To be honest, I haven't had other "good" or "better" tables but what I especially like about the Technics is that it is very user friendly (which is important to my aging hands and eyes), parts are inexpensive and readily available, it can be almost infinitely modified, and it sounds darned good.

For me too, that's exactly why I decided to acquire a SL-1200. And let the Rega go :)

The best? Easy, B&O 4004 w/ an MMC20EN cart. Sold it, stoopid.

Maybe better, but it didn't work, and I eventually sold the arm to some fellow in Singapore who sent me $300 cash in the mail: Logic Tempo E w/ a Magnapan arm.

Current is a Yamaha YP-B4 w/ stock arm and an Aurex 550M cart - sounds good, very good.
