Cabbage Patch Elvis wrote:That's funny, Bossanova is my favorite Pixies album. I felt that they really expanded their sound on that one.I've never really cared for Trompe Le Monde, though. It just sounds like a band that wasn't all that interested. Maybe it was time. I found Frank Black's solo album and Last Splash to be much more engaging.

That is funny, because I like Trompe Le Monde quite a bit. I was all set to love the "new Pixies album" when Bossanova came out, but it just didn't do it for me. Maybe I should take another listen. Surfer Rosa and Doolittle are my favorites, in that order.

Surfa rosa should be in the history books! Amazing, and my introduction to the pixies...

Got Dead Can Dance's self titled debut. Soooooo different from the rest of their stuff. I love it, but I have never bought a record that had so much static coming out of the sleeve! I had to peel off my cork mat when I switched sides...
Too much to list, I sell the stuff, so most of it was free (the only way I can afford my addiction)!

I hit Goodwill again and they restocked from my last visit last week. I got ....

The vinyl for the Nat King Cole LP is heavy vinyl and virtually pristine as is the Organ Music one, I have never bought a used record this old this clean. They had a sticker sale today which means a certain color sticker is 50% off the sticker price. They are all priced at 99 cents so I got these albums for $3.42

Of course for every 10 albums you look through there will be only one in great shape so I buy those good ones.

Sadly there was an old 1940s sci-fi serial LP on wax and it was very badly warped that it was garbage. I was very very sad that would have been a prize. The cover was almost good but too messed up also. I think it was called The Last Star World or something.

21408

Nat King Cole - I Don't Want To Be Hurt Anymore.

214032140221406

Musical Heritage Society - Music by Bach, Ligeti, Schoenberg On the Von Beckerath Organ.

2140521404

Santana - Greatest Hits

21409

The Best of '66 which are a series of cool vinyls releases for different years in the 60s. I have a few of them.

Yeah I love Goodwill stores. $3.42 for those 4 LPs last week I got The Eagles greatest Hits Vol.1 in shrink minty fresh too.

Thanks, forgot to mention that the Nat King Cole album is the Mono release. Sounds odd since I do not have many mono LPs. I have some Mono 45s though.

It's too bad vinyl costs so much now, the Goodwill bargain reminds me of back in the day and heading to the pawn shops and getting stacks of records for almost nothing. Some were 50 cents each.

Anyway, yesterday I bought Donald Fagen's the Nightfly for 98c (super clean!). I don't like the first track as it has been FM'd to death, but the rest plays something like a lost Steely Dan album. Pretty cool.

Well that's a damned cool record too. I'm jealous.

I understand that we're riding the wave of a vinyl resurgence, and this does have an effect on pricing. Thankfully, trends (hipsters) drive the values of certain bands or artists' work. The upside of this is that they seem to ignore a large portion of vintage vinyl, which I suspect drives some prices down. The bargain bins are alive and well.

For instance, I noticed that anything Paul McCartney released post-Beatles shot up in price about five years ago. Five years before that, you couldn't get 50 cents for a Wings record and they were everywhere.

Always happy to blow some cash at the local shop.

What a haul today... Sadly no RSD stuff, but I did get (used, of course)

Pink Floyd - The Wall (original '79 or '80 pressing I believe)
Led Zeppelin - Presence (embossed cover)
Joe Satriani - Not of This Earth
The Police - Ghost in the Machine
Saxon - Denim and Leather
Styx - The Grand Illusion (no poster)
Mountain - Nantucket Sleighride (pretty rough shape - vinyl looks OK though, just needs some cleaning)

and hopefully, when I get enough money, I'll eventually buy Van Halen - A Different Kind of Truth on vinyl...

I think I made a mistake with

Beach Boys "Made in the USA" and "Endless Summer".

Bee Gees "Trafalgar" (Like the artwork)

and Tchaikovsky Symphony No 5... great soviet style artwork on the cover.
