I have just checked a good TD160 motor that I have and can provide the following values.
Resistance of winding 1 measured between top terminal in your picture and 3rd terminal = 4.28 ohms
Resistance of winding 2 measured between bottom terminal and 2nd terminal = 4.56 ohms.
Colour coding of wires should be (from the top) red, black, black, blue.
There should be no continuity between any wire and the body of the motor.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Graham.

I would be very surprised for it to be shot if both windings are so close in value.

Sure it's not a 16V motor?

That is a 16V motor, all 110V thorens motors have wires coming out of the motor housing not the tabs like yours also I have own 2 motors that look all that and both are 16V.And this is the cap set up need for 16v motor.

Thank you rkay5 this schematic helps a lot. I believe we are talking about 16v dc. and that black wires are (-) first and second tabs.

We are talking about 16V AC

These are synchronous AC motors
You will need a suitable transformer.
