The Beatles: Help!/I'm Down (Parlophone R5305; 1965 second pressing)- I have to admit that when I tried recording this single with my Stanton D81s stylus in my Stanton 881s cart, the record distorted badly compared to many previous records I was recording from. However, when I switched to my Stanton D810 mono LP stylus, the distortion was far less. I think that from here on out, I'll use this stylus when I come to a record that has moderate or worse distortion. In the near future I'm contemplating replacing this with another copy or the original American pressing on Capitol.

Recent:
The Beatles: Yesterday/Act Naturally (Capitol 5498; 1965 yellow and orange swirl label)

Next:
The Beatles: We Can Work It Out/Day Dripper (Capitol 5555; 1965 yellow and orange swirl label)

I love the fat bottom on this track!
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

Petula Clark: Downtown/You'd Better Love Me (Warner Bros. 5494; 1964, orange label)
Petula Clark: I Know a Place/Jack And John (Warner Bros. 5612; 1965, orange label)
I have to admit that my old copy of "I Know a Place" had damage caused by previous mistracking from the previous owner's stylus. I'm recording from my second copy which just came in the mail. (It has been cleaned, as all the other records I received were.)

Petula Clark: My Love/Where Am I Going (Warner Bros. 5684; 1966, orange label)
Classics IV: Spooky/Poor People (Imperial 66259; 1968)
The Coasters: Yakety Yak/Zing! Went The Strings of My Heart (Atco 45-6116; 1958)
Eddie Cochran: Summertime Blues/Love Again (Liberty F-55144; 1958, turquoise label)
-This copy was bought unplayed and still sounds new.

Hedgehoppers Anonymous - [i]It's Good News Week...[/quote]

I love this one! Another that seems elliptically relevant today is Jonathan King's "Everyone's Gone to the Moon."

Or maybe Zager & Evans:

Now it's been 10,000 years, Man has cried a billion tears,
For what, he never knew. Now man's reign is through.
But through eternal night, The twinkling of starlight.
So very far away, Maybe it's only yesterday.

Best,
Mike

I have no idea why I like this song so much. I probably shouldn't worry about it and just concentrate on shaking my spandex.

Im a big Monkees fan. Head is my fave LP and Porpoise Song is one of the best 45s of the 60s \:D/

In case you weren't aware, Rhino has re-issued Head on Vinyl and a "Best of" on colored vinyl.
They also have an awesome "Head" box set which is mostly CDs but includes an exclusive 7". It's expensive but, in my opinion, worth it. (Limited edition )
