KentT wrote:Why not VPI? The Scout is very nice if you love a detailed presentation. And it's also local to you. SOTA is another make to consider. Listen to some setups if you can. All of your candidates do at least one thing outstanding.

In that company i feel the Rega RP6 is a better candidate then the less costly RP3.
I have a Marantz TT-15S1 and here in Norway it gives superb value for money comared to its larger Clearaudio brothers.
I also have a Rega P9 and it is quite better then TT-15S1 when comes to dynamics and digging out the last details on my records, but the TT-15S1 sounds very relaxed and more warm and laidback.
I would certainly rate the TT-15S1 better then the Clearaudio Concept.
The sum (in $$$) of Clearaudio parts used on the TT-15S1 is 2-1 comapred to the Concept.
The TT-15S1 has a better cart and upgraded Emotion plinith, feet and platter compared to the Concept.

This is good info. knowing you had both .interesting you feel the concept was better. wish I could go somewhere and hear all 4 of them . seems I have to buy all 4 to know . that marantz looks like a great deal to .wonder how it stacks up against the concept . hmmm to many decisions .

Lets assume that you to a certain extent get what you pay for. The turntable that the Marantz TT-15S1 is based on is over twice as expensive as the Concept with the cart. The Marantz is extremly "underpriced" when you sum up the Clearaudio parts used.
