Show Us Your Listening Area!

the good, the bad and the ugly

Here's mine.
21182
Fabric wall conceals 8" of dense rockwool, bead curtains hide the amps, speakers on air cushions (Ala Seismic Sink).21183
Behind the wall rug is more rockwool, and what looks like shelves at the top will conceal rockwool "super chunks". Cat absorbs high frequencies.
I cannot move speakers or seating, so have to work round acoustic problems.

Thought that was a transmission line subwoofer.

LOL!

Actually it's a modern clean burning stove.
The "tube" is that long to give a lot of extra heat.
Works really good through the cold Norwegian winters. 8)

Anyway, if you're ever in the neighbourhood you're more than welcome for a listen and a wee dram of whisky...

You have a good point!

Thanks, and the same goes for you if you are in my neighbourhood. :D

Here's my listening area:

Link to picture

It's a budget audiophile set-up. The equipment is as follows:

Speakers are Celestion DL12 Series Two for my music, and then I have a Polk Audio CSI5 center channel and Polk Audio fxi3 Dipole/Bipole speakers for rears
Amplifier running them is a Sony STR-V5
Sources include Playstation 3 and a Luxman PD-264 Turntable
Also, the other amplifier you see in this picture is a Pioneer Elite VSX37-TX for home theatre

I have to say I am mad impressed with this set-up. Sounds incredible. I didn't pay very much and got a lot of great stuff!

Here's the system after I've been forced to sell on some gear. Loving it!

Yes, I've made quite an impression in mine! My other kitty likes to steal the sweet spot when I get up for a second, she's got a good ear.

Nice, clean and simple system. I like that. Though that record clamp is doing you no good under the TT.

i planned to have a really nice room in the attic, with nice mood lighting, a comfy chair, and no clutter. i ended up in the room with all the crap in it.

Image

behind the chair that faces the desk is a rack of bike clothes and helmets, a couple of guitars nestled inbetween, some classic rock issues, an old hi-fi, some amps and stuff like that. and my wing chun kung fu mook yan jong (wooden dummy)
i probably have the most budget set-up on here too.
the speakers on the bottom are just being used as temporary stands for my missions

Thanks for the pics. It's truly a multi-use room.

What are you playing through that mini Marshall combo amp?
