Automatic Start/Stop on PE 3046

Hi,

I'm looking for some help. I have a PE 3046 with the automatic start/stop. I just got it used, and I'm new the turntable world. The problem is that the automatic start and stop is no longer working. It was working when I first got it, but after I used it a couple of times, it stopped. The arm is balanced correctly as per the instructions and the unit is level. When I push the lever to start the arm picks up, and stays there, but it does not move to the table at all, after the time when it should move it just sets back down. I have the same problem with stopping. I'll push stop or get to the end of the record and it will stop, pick up, wait, then set back down again, but not move back to the rest.

Any ideas?

The PE3046 is based on the Dual 12** series. Serch for threads and posts related to "steurpimpel" in the dual forum to understand the cause of this problem and the solution for the same.

It was the "steurpimpel", so it is working now, for some reason it isn't lining up correctly and won't adjust to auto start at the beginning of the record. I'll have to look at it again to figure it out. The most important part is that the auto stop is working! So glad! Thank you!

That is good news. The height of the pimpel is very critical for correct operation so you may have to experiment with shorter and longer ones until you find the one that works perfectly.

Ok, I'll have to try. I'll need to find something I can use for the pimple, I'm just glad it is working right now. I'll need to look to see what other people are using. I'm not sure if I have anything that fits.
