Pioneer Pl-5 Audio Problem

Postby titans_fan009 » 06 Apr 2012 17:20

I have recently acquired an old Pl-5 from grandma and am having trouble with the audio output. The sound is coming out at a very low input and barely audible. Is this a problem with the needle, RCA audio cables or something completely different? Thank you all. *Additionally any recommendations for the Pl-5 would be much appreciated.

A turntable cartridge puts out a very low signal and must be amplified more than a CD player. Try a phono pre-amp or get an amp with a dedicated phono input which has the phono pre-amp built in.

Ron.
